Vienna: Portraits
in the Parks, Yet Again,
Rescheduled for June 15-24,
'09
(Due to the World Soccer Games
occurring in Vienna in June, 2008, there were unanticipated
housing shortages causing us to delay the trip until
June, 2009.)
Workshop fee: $450 per person
Housing: $500/person (Student apartments
with 2 and 3 bedrooms each. Most are double, a few
singles may be available. All with washer/dryers,
kitchens, Internet and phones.)
Airfare, meals, museum tickets and passes for the
local transportation are all to be paid by the participant.
Portraits in the Parks will
be a combination landscape and figure painting workshop
for 10 days all pretty much taking place in the inner
city and along the "Ringstrasse" or Ring
Boulevard that surrounds the old city. Vienna
constructed most of their public parks, civic buildings,
museums, opera house, etc on the ring and during
June, many of the parks host symphony concerts during
the day. My former association with the Institute
of European Studies (IES) has given us access to
student apartments located in the districts just
outside of the "ring”.
