Her present
focus these days is in preparing figurative and landscape
paintings for gallery sales. A long ‘set-aside’ interest
in printmaking has been renewed with a portion of
the studio set up to house her two presses. In the
tradition of the classic European ‘atelier’,
artists may schedule to work alongside Perri, or
join her in plein-air excursions. She leads an international
painting workshop every other year in Europe, and
is taking a group to Vienna in June 2009.
Two highlights this spring included a commission
from PrismaColor (formerly Grumbacher, now owned
by Sanford) to create a painting to be used for the
packaging and promotion of a line of portrait pastels.
The second was being selected by the Federation of
Canadian Artists to join the ranks of 'Senior Signature'
status, allowing her to add SFCA to her name and
membrship to an exclusive group of very distinguished
artists. She was truly honored!
She has two Video/DVD’s on portraiture in
pastel and oil (see Video section to order), and
currently shows her work at the Cordair Gallery (www.cordair.com)
in Napa, California and at Legacy Portraits in Plano,
TX; Impressions Gallery in Campbell River, BC; and
the DRAW Gallery, Sidelines, and Quadra Crafts on
Quadra Island, BC. |
