Lake Haven Atelier and Art
Rretreat
Atelier (Ah-tell-yeah): a workshop or studio focused on the
classic tradition of the mentor-student training in the art
of picture making. The term is used today to describe the
burgeoning number of teaching environments dedicated to the
classical drawing and painting techniques of European and
American artists in the 19th century. Perrin honed her skills
based on the background of a graduate Master’s degree
in Art as Applied to Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Medical
School and 27 years as a medical artist specializing in surgical
illustration. LAKE HAVEN embodies her life long dream of creating
a painting and printmaking studio where she and visiting artists
can explore together their creative passions. Our home and
studio is situated on Village Bay Lake, one of a chain of lakes
in Main Lake Provincial Park, on Quadra Island, British Columbia.
Quadra is a small (25 mile long, 5 mile wide) island situated
between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia,
on the west coast of Canada. Larry and Perri welcome artists
and friends who want to come to our beautiful, remote sanctuary
to stay or study or perhaps even just relax in a creative environment
unique to the Pacific Northwest Discovery Islands |
